Evergreen

A moment in a great awakening…

It takes a while to wake up
I just ate those words whole
That’s all there was to know ...

But that won’t be my reality
There’s nothing saying it has to be
Forget this forgotten story
It’s for the people or it’s not for me

What have we left to build?
These things we’ve killed You look at me and say
Balance will be centered
All things do come together
Still sometimes the storm will come our way

so Lift me up with song
if you find that I have fallen
& if we sing in sorrow
We'll never sing alone
Sung through darkness,
it will carry me through tomorrow
& if you sing this song, I will never sing alone

all the world I see - once evergreen
just pieces of debris where the mountains used to be
It was all that I could see...

What about the waking world?
I’d rather die by this torture Then live on torturers terms
It’s not just about the weather, It just won’t give them pleasure
To upturn progress we have made,

So lift me up with song
if you find that i have fallen
and if we sing in sorrow
we will never sing alone
Sung through darkness,
you'll carry me through tomarrow
and if we sing this song, we will never sing alone

All the world, all I see - once evergreen
Small pieces of debris
where the mountains used to be
It was all that I could see...

We are walking down the road
The only one we’ve ever known
And it might seem so long, but it will turn around
Just one more time, in just one more turn, just one more time around...

lift me up with song
if you find that I have fallen
and if you sing in sorrow
you will never sing alone
song in darkness
will carry on to tomarrow
and if we sing in song, we will never sing alone...

This little piece of Eden is my own humble garden
And if we sing, we will never sing alone
